A Steward is responsible for providing courteous, efficient service to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and present them with the menus.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate them to the kitchen or bar.
- Serve orders promptly and in a professional manner.
- Ensure that tables are clean, properly set, and organized before and after guests are seated.
- Assist with mise en place (preparation before service).
- Refill water glasses and attend to guests' needs throughout their meal.
- Adhere to hygiene, sanitation, and grooming standards.
- Address minor guest complaints, or escalate them to the captain or manager if necessary.
- Maintain an inventory of cutlery, crockery, and table supplies.
