Position Overview:
The Shift Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the restaurant. This includes supervising team members, maintaining high standards of customer service, and ensuring operational compliance during assigned shifts. The role requires strong leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving skills to maintain a seamless experience for both customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and motivate team members to meet performance goals and provide excellent customer service.
Delegate tasks effectively to ensure operational efficiency during shifts.
Train and onboard new team members in company policies and procedures.
Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing the restaurant.
Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and report shortages to management.
Ensure that food preparation, service, and presentation meet quality and brand standards.
Customer Service:
Handle escalated customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
Ensure customers are greeted, served, and leave with a positive experience.
Monitor and address customer feedback to improve service quality.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Enforce food safety and workplace safety standards.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with cleanliness and hygiene protocols.
Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations in a calm and efficient manner.
Financial Accountability:
Monitor cash registers and manage cash handling procedures, including end-of-shift reports.
Minimize waste and manage costs by adhering to inventory control guidelines.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); further education in hospitality or management is a plus.
Prior experience in a supervisory role within the food service industry.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and POS systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods during shifts.
Capacity to lift and carry up to [weight limit, e.g., 25-50 pounds].
Manual dexterity for using equipment and handling products.
